About the Pinto
The Breed
Choice, versatility and achievement for the breed that offers something for everyone is what the Pinto Horse Association has to offer. Formed in 1956, many Pinto bloodlines trace three or four generations before the beginning of the association.
The Size
Miniature-
Any equine measuring 34 inches or less
Miniature B-
Any equine measuring 34inches and up to 38 inches.
Pony-
Any equine measuring 38 inches to 56 in ches (14 hands)
Horse-
Any equine measuring more than 56 inches (14 hands)
The Type
Hunter-
Displays the carriage and conformation associated with predominantly Thoroughbredhorse or Connemara or Welsh pony breeding.
Pleasure-
Displays the carriage and conformation associated with predominantly Arabian or Morgan horse, or Welsh or Shetland pony breeding.
Saddle-
Gaited horse or pony displaying carriage, annimation and conformation of Saddlebred, Hackney or Tennessee Walking Horse or the modern style Shetland pony
breeding.
Stock-
Displays the carriage and conformation associated with the Quarter Horse or Shetland pony breeding.
The Pattern
Tobiano-
Coat appers to be white with large flowing spots of color, often overlaping. Spots of color typically originate from the head, chest, flank and buttock, often including the tail.
Overo
-Coat appers to be a colored horse with white markings. Spots of white appear to be jagged and originate on the animal's side or belly, spreading twards neck, tail, legs and back.
Breeding Stock-
Coat is solid or lacks the suffitient white to be registered in regular registry, but can be classified as a Breeding Stock with the PtHA.
Bredding Stock Pintos are not allowed to participate in PtHA events unless specified by the event rules.

Pass the word and please invite your friends that are 4H/FFA members or that own other breed horses. What a great way for the 4H/FFA members and others to show indoors, in a climate controlled facility. There are also some open classes with added money payback. Everyone loves to get payback.

> 4-H/FFA/All Breed Open Day Fee - $45 day/judge
> 4-H/FFA/All Breed Open Office Fee - $15.00
> 4-H/FFA All Weekend Fee - $100. Includes Class Entry, Office Fee, and Stall
> All Breed Open Weekend Fee - $105 Includes Class Entry, Office Fee, and Stall
> 4-H/FFA and All Breed Open Combined - $150 Includes Class Entry, Office Fee, and Stall

Jessica and Danielle will be representing Iowa at the Pinto World Show in June.
They will go on to compete for the State title during the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines in August.

Jessica has been riding since the age of 4 when she got her first pony.
Currently, she not only shows in Iowa Pinto shows, but also competes in 4-H and Open shows.
In 2010 Jessica was the Iowa State Fair Jr. Cowgirl Queen, she also holds multiple Color Breed Congress Championships and Reserve Championships.
Congratulations to Jessica and Zips Payday, aka Teddy
Danielle is from Ottumwa, IA, and at 11 years old has been showing horses since the age of nine and is very active in the Wapello county 4-H club, Hooves and Hats.
Danielle and her horse A Touch of Sudden -aka Touch, have been a team since Nov 2012. This will be the duo's second year competing at the Iowa State Fair in the Jr. Queen contest. and they will be competing in W/T 11 and under this year at the Pinto World.
